I am always a fan of warming herb-infused beverages, especially in cooler months. I'm sure you are grateful for a warm house on a cold day. I am too. This recipe is a welcome 'warm up' on cold days! I call it "Kicked up Apple Cider"
I am a fan of this warm and nourishing bevy during the changing temps of Spring and Fall, when a little detox and inflammation fighting fits perfectly with the changing seasons. Either way, this yummy, 'easy to make' beverage, will be sure to please the whole family!
A few years back, a good friend introduced me to hot apple cider with ginger and lemon slices. If you have been reading Studio Botanica posts for a while, you must know that it was only a matter of seconds before my mind added TURMERIC to this recipe!
Yes, friends, we have a winner! Add that to the fact that I've found a source for fresh turmeric root at a local health food store and here we are!!

Do you have a favourite warming beverage ?
What do you like to do 'outdoors' in your winter?
In a land where SNOW is a definite part of every winter, there is beauty there…. and then there's the "warm up"!
For the record… I really do try to embrace winter. I've never been a skier or a snow-boarder and I confess that as a skater, I can resemble more of a comedy routine than a Canadian should.
Oh, wait.. I have gone cross-country skiing and thoroughly enjoyed that! When skies are blue and it's a sub-zero sunny day, I do my best to get out for a brisk walk, bundled up like the 'Micheline tire man' !!
Whichever way you 'manage' the cold months, I hope you'll find ways to embrace and enjoy...

I am going to go make this today! I have been drinking gobs of a grape infused ACV concoction but I like what you added to this recipe. How incredibly healing!

Wow this is jam-packed with goodness! Turmeric, ginger and orange?! Gotta love that flavor and the benefits from all of them. I love ACV already, but this version is so great!

Agreed! Packed with powerful herbal goodness!

Oohhh I'm making this for myself to enjoy tomorrow! There is so much gunk going around and I've avoided it all but this will be perfect to keep on top of it!

Hope you have the time to make and take!! oxo

Honestly, my favorite warm beverage in winter is a mug of chicken broth with coconut cream and sea salt. I do ginger and turmeric in my juice daily, but it's a cold drink.
Carol Little
Mmmm Jackie, that also sounds very nourishing and comforting. Thanks for sharing!
Carol Little
Thanks for sharing Jackie. Yum.

I love apple cider and take tumeric as a supplement every day. Never thought of putting two and two together. Going to try this out the next time I go to the store and pick up some apple cider (before it gets too warm out).

Thanks John. I am trying to put turmeric into many of my 'older' traditions/rituals just to get more of it INto me!
Hope you like this, when you do make it!
