Do you like the flavour combination, now quite common everywhere "chai spice"? I remember the first time I enjoyed authentic 'chai tea', made by a dear friend with a long history of drinking it from childhood, learned from her grandmother and a long tradition in her family. Years later, my friend + mentor Rosemary Gladstar, always creative, added her own twist and here we are with "Cinnamon Spice Chai" ~ it's SO good. The healing powers of these botanicals make a delicious + life-enhancing tea blend!
Cinnamon Spice Chai
Ingredients
- 1 part sweet cinnamon sticks broken or crumbled
- ½ part coriander seed
- ½ part chopped ginger root
- ¼ part black peppercorns cracked, ground
- ¼ part cardamom seeds place in a herb mill and grind quickly
- ⅛ part whole cloves
- Darjeeling tea or your own favourite black, green or a de-caff choice: Rooibus tea
- Honey raw preferred, to taste
Instructions
-
Add an appropriate amount of tea of choice (1 teaspoon tea per serving)
-
Cover, and let steep 5 minutes.
-
Strain, then sweeten to taste with honey.
Drink + Enjoy!!
I did first learn of this delicious beverage, in classes with Rosemary but also seen it in this book so this recipe excerpted from:

Rosemary: "I love this tea with frothed milk. It rivals the best latte and offers so much more in health-giving properties"

This sounds super yummy, and so comforting and warming on these cold winter nights! I also think Anna's idea of adding some grass fed butter then blending real quick would be delicious!

Sounds lovely Carol!

Sounds delicious. I adore cinnamon! I wonder how it would taste with grass feed butter? I am trying to find a chai latte that I could try the bulletproof diet with.
If you grow cilantro, when it bolts and goes to seed, you get coriander!

Oh Anna. Try that and let me know, please!!!
