Aromatic Turmeric Latte with Coconut Milk
The ingredients in this tasty warming 'latte' are anti-inflammatory, anti-viral, antioxidant and digestive system supportive.
This recipe makes enough for a 1 cup portion. Just double it or expand the recipe to suit your needs.
It's a GOOD THING!!!
It has a warm, peppery, slightly bitter flavour and a mild fragrance which reminds me of a gingery orange mix. It's harsh when eaten raw so always add it to your cooking or make sure it's slightly heated to enjoy its delicate taste.
Turmeric Latte with Coconut Milk
Ingredients
- 1 cup coconut milk or oat, almond or your favourite
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder use anywhere from ½ teaspoon to 2 teaspoons.. your choice/taste

- ⅛ teaspoon fresh black pepper or about 3 'grinds' in your grinder
optional add-ons:
- Dash of cayenne pepper
- raw honey or maple syrup to taste
- ½ teaspoon of coconut oil or ghee
- 2 star anise
- 2-3 cardamom pods
Instructions
-
Combine all ingredients (except honey if using) in a medium sized pot and, warm up slowly, stirring often.
-
Allow to come to a simmer.
-
Pour into a mug + top with a little more grated nutmeg or a sprinkle of cinnamon if you like!
-
Froth it up a little with a fork or if you have a little frothy gizmo!
Recipe Notes
I like pour coconut milk into a small bowl + mix well as often the milk/cream often separate in the can.
Do heat the mixture slowly so that the coconut milk doesn't thicken up too much.
Make the basic recipe or use these optional add-ons, above.
Any of these are delicious. Experiment or pick your own options.
