I love to make plant-infused seasonings. I like to think it's a healthy addiction -- making culinary concoctions + condiments that elevate our meals + help us to make healthy choices in our 'every day' . I was reminded recently of a project I made a few years back + I'm hoping you try this one. You'll want to try this one-- Citrus Salt !!
Creating herb salts is a passion of mine. Check out this post all about how to make DIY herb-infused salt!
In addition to these ideas, creating 'citrus-infused' salts is easy + fun + delicious!
You'll want to make this Citrus Infused Salt !
CITRUS infused SEA SALT
Ingredients
- ¼ cup coarse sea salt
- 2 tablespoon peppercorns
- 2 tablespoon dried orange peel/ zest or try grapefruit, lemon or lime!
- 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic NOT garlic salt
Instructions
-
This is a super way to use herb + spice grinders. I often have one that I've purchased, that is empty now.
-
Put the peppercorns into a mortar and pestle and bash up a bit so that they will stay suspended (i.e. not hit the bottom due to being the heaviest participant!)
-
Add all ingredients into a 1 cup measuring cup. Mix it up.
-
Pour into your grinder. |
